Member Profiles

Without the commitment and involvement of members, the Club would not function. Without the abilities and talent we would not have opportunities to perform.
Here we tell you something of some of our members and their involvement with Silverpeaks Country Music Club.

Graeme Partridge is a foundation member of Silverpeaks Country Music Club.
Graeme has a long history of playing and performing country music and is
also a keen steel guitar player.

As a young child, Graeme started singing at church where his parents attended.  Later Graeme started playing guitar and went to watch a movie about the life of Hank Williams, from then on life changed, and Graeme was hooked on Country Music and has never stopped loving everything about country music. Graeme played in
many bands in Dunedin. Graeme would be seen  playing at the black and white bar at the Law Courts Hotel opening for the Tumbleweeds, and became very good friends with Cole Wilson, Nola, Myra and Colin McCorrie.  Graeme played in the Colorado band for many years having a regular spot at the Gardens tavern.

Graeme has won many awards in his own right and with his daughter Melissa. Graeme
has also won songwriting awards in New Zealand, and made the finals in Tamworth
Australia for the songs he arranged and put to music from poems that his Grandfather
wrote. Graeme’s song Mt Ida has been recorded by Australian Reg Poole. Graeme
has performed in New Zealand and Australia by himself and with his daughter
Melissa. When performing with some touring bluegrass artists they were invited to
perform at a 10 day country and bluegrass festival in Iowa USA.  While at the festival
in Iowa they were inducted into the country music hall of fame.  Graeme is currently
our Musical Director and continues to devote time to our club.
